MONTSERRAT

No es la primera vez que LemelonRouge expone en Artemis. Hace un año mostró sus trabajos bajo el lema “NYC LIGHTS, SHADOWS & SOMETHING MORE” esta vez nos invita a ver sus obras bajo el lema MONTSERRAT.


La muestra empieza con una fotografía RL de las montañas que llevan este nombre y que son las que han inspirado la colección. Obras llenas de color y de vida, como toda su obra. Técnicas distintas, acuarelas o ceras, pero con la misma fuerza ambas.


LeMelonRouge es uno de los muchos artistas RL que hacen de SL una extensión de su lugar de trabajo. Ofrecer una plataforma virtual a los que trabajan con obra RL es uno de los objetivos que la Galería Artemis se fijó cuando empezó a funcionar. Con artistas como él este objetivo se ha alcanzado.


Espero que la muestra guste tanto como ya pasó la vez anterior que expuso en nuestras instalaciones y que los visitantes disfruten con estas imágenes que impactan y demuestran el buen hacer de Lem.

Galería Artemis y el arte en Second Life

Cuando la Galería Artemis comenzó su andadura por Second Life su objetivo era servir de “escaparate” a los artistas que trabajaran tanto con obras RL, y la quisieran mostrar en esta plataforma virtual, como a los que quisieran presentar obras únicamente virtuales. Después de unos meses de sucesivas exposiciones, la galería cambió de ubicación para así tener un espacio más amplio en el que poder acoger otros eventos relacionados con la cultura.

Desde el principio hemos ofrecido y recibido colaboración de otros residentes en este mundo virtual, dispuestos a estar presentes siempre en los avances de la galería y apoyándonos en cuanto les hemos pedido.

En este sentido existe el proyecto de un trabajo en colaboración con otras instituciones artísticas, culturales, educativas, siempre en pos de la difusión de las artes.

Inauguración de la muestra "Women"

La noche del 6 de Septiembre marcó un hito en la trayectoria de Galerie Artemis ya que, por primera vez, logramos reunir cinco brillantes y creativas artistas en una muestra al mismo tiempo heterogénea pero armónica.
A continuación, un video con secuencias de la inauguración de la muestra, producido y dirigido por otra talentosa mujer: Yesikita Coppola.

To gather five women who have found their own place in SL for a collective exhibition could seem like an easy task at first glance. But if those five women must also be exceptional creators, the task becomes less obvious. Adding the fact that all five come from different countries and cultures, speak different languages, live in different time zones and that the exhibition is supposed to become harmonious you can imagine the really hard work it represented.

I began working on the show WOMEN in may this year. To find these artists and bring them together in one show has been an exercise in consistancy and imagination. Each artist with her works and interests has done her contribution to its success.

Aneli is french, has her own gallery, and creates colourfull works overflowing with live and elegance.

Antrozous is american, also a gallery-owner, and she presents real life photographs in which she denounces a reality she doesn't like.

Kicca, from Italy, has developped a pure and sensual technique for pieces that mix light colours and subtle mouvements.

Phraus, from Spain, is a great teacher and builder, who has finally decided to bring out of her inventory those "tortured" prims with their amazing shapes.

Ruska is catalan, the youngest artist in the show and she presents - a first for our gallery - an installation in which she denounces a social injustice.

Everybody who is able to see beyond what the eye can catch at a first glance will not only discover great works of art in this exhibition, but also the artists behind those works. Beside being works of art, those pieces are mirrors of their creators. The interests and the dreams of five women from all around the world are what you can find in our show. Everybody who is touched by beauty, well done work and the denunciation of social injustices is invited to visit the exhibition that presents every aspect of what art can give us.

Una ilusión hecha realidad: WOMEN

Reunir cinco mujeres en una muestra puede parecer fácil en un mundo en el que ellas han encontrado un lugar muy importante. Que, además de ser mujeres, el nivel de su trabajo sea excepcional, ya no lo es. Si se quiere que estas mujeres sean de distintos países, con las consiguientes diferencias de idiomas y horarios, y que, pese a todo, la muestra sea armónica, el trabajo que hay que realizar para conseguirlo es largo y costoso.

En la exposición WOMEN hemos trabajado desde el mes de mayo. Buscarlas, encontrarlas y reunirlas ha sido un ejercicio de constancia y, sobre todo, de ilusión. Cada una de ellas ha aportado una buena muestra de sus trabajos y sus inquietudes.

Aneli, francesa, galerista además de artista, con sus colores llenos de vida y elegancia.

Dice Aneli: "J'adore la géométrie et les mathématiques. En arrivant sur SL, je ne savais pas que j'allais pouvoir m'exprimer sur ces sujets. Aussi après beaucoup de pratique, j'ai réussi à dégager des structures et des formes. En réel je pratique la peinture sur soie, je n ai pas de style précis mais je recherche toujours l'harmonisation".

Antrozous, norteamericana, galerista también, sus fotografías RL denuncian una realidad que no le gusta.

Dice Antrozous: "Salsa en Los Angeles is a photo-graphic exposure of the macho gender politics of Salsa dancing as expressed in the dancer's hands".

Kicca, italiana, pura sensualidad y una técnica depuradísima, colores tenues y movimientos sutiles que subyugan.

Phraus, española, gran constructora y profesora de construcción, ha decidido sacar de su inventario por primera vez esos prims que ella dice “torturados” con los que consigue formas sorprendentes.

Dice Phraus: "A "short visit" to know what sl was and to meet some friends, it converted in a three years staying...(up now) The combination of features we have here to our disposal means an endless field for learning, experimentation and yes, playing.

I started to mess with prim-based building since the very beginning, and I had the opportunity and the joy to share the few things I learnt here as teacher of advanced building in two of the main spanish-speaking groups at SL. Now it is time to return a little bit of the enjoyment received, and a Friend persuaded me that Art is the very better way to do so...a new adventure is starting, lets hope You enjoy my poor first attempt on it and thanks for coming".

Ruska, catalana, la más joven de las expositoras, presenta una instalación, la primera en Artemis, de pura denuncia social.

Quien quiera “ver” más allá de lo que el ojo percibe en una primera mirada, disfrutará descubriendo en todas estas obras a la artista que hay detrás de cada una de ellas. No solo son obras de arte, son el reflejo de cómo es cada autora. Sus inquietudes y sus sueños son los que se ven en esta exposición a la que invito a visitar a quienes son sensibles a la belleza, al trabajo bien realizado y a la denuncia ante las injusticias sociales. Una colección de obras que muestra todo lo que el arte puede ser para el ser humano.
